Ma, prima di procedere oltre, credo utile chiarire che cosa, secondo me, si debba intendere per architetto. (…). Architetto chiamerò colui che con metodo sicuro e perfetto sappia progettare razionalmente e realizzare praticamente, attraverso lo spostamento dei pesi e mediante la riunione e la congiunzione dei corpi, opere che nel modo migliore si adattino ai più importanti bisogni dell’uomo. A tale fine gli è necessaria la padronanza delle più alte discipline.
(…) E’ infine opportuno rilevare che la sicurezza, l’autorità, il decoro dello stato dipendono in gran parte dall’opera dell’architetto; per merito suo possiamo trascorrere il nostro tempo libero in modo piacevole, sereno e salutare, e impiegare le ore di lavoro in modo proficuo e dando incremento alla nostra sostanza: vivere insomma dignitosamente e fuori dei pericoli.”

Leon Battista Alberti almost six centuries ago, belonging to the period after the Middle Ages in which architectural works were realized by expert carpenters and master masons mostly without drawings, focused the attention to the necessity of a project and mastery of various disciplines in implementing urban and territorial measures.
Today his words are more relevant than ever, in view of the fact that each man’s intervention fits in a complex environmental, territorial and socio-economic context.
A_SEI derives from these reflections of SIX ARCHITECTS and the idea of establishing a place where to share knowledge and experiences , a workshop where collaborative creativity and effective production are the fulcrum of the design process, not only a place for architects, but also an open space to contaminations from different disciplines..
The working group, made up of a team of designers and collaborators coordinated by six associated Architects, is integrated by partners specialized in specific areas related to architectural design, land use planning, landscaping and design (geologists, agronomists, biologists, naturalists, structural and plant engineers).
As a respectable workshop A_SEI officinarchitettura , in order to switch from paper to the implementation of a project, has adopted all the necessary methodology and organization.
